The Mt. Hood Cycling Classic is returning in full force. This year, the event has been recognized as one of the top professional races in the country, earning the highest ranking on the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar. In addition, the Classic has been named as one of only three UCI women's point races in the nation, an honor that will make it an Olympic qualifier event. Chad Sperry, Classic's race director, couldn't be more thrilled, "We are incredibly excited at the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic receiving the highest ranking on the pro circuit. It insures that every pro team in the U.S. will be here hunting down points for the national series."

Hello all,How time flies!! Wow, I can’t believe our time in AU is up already. It was a shorter stint in the southern hemisphere than normal this year.We are headed to China for Chris to race and then back to Tuscon for the N.A spring. I’m excited to see a country like China. Because when I arrived in AU I was at starting point after a big break. I asked myself the other day if I’d made progress forward since the year had started? Had I set out to do what I was aiming for? We all set...

Back from the dead!!Well the last two days have been filled with great hard riding. Day 6 was 144km. We headed from Collingwood to Nelson back over Takaka climb. After my nice cruisey day on day 5 I really wanted to hammer te next two days. John N had decided it was no rest for the wicked on the roll there and we clipped along pretty quick all the way to the base of the climb. Soon as we started to go up I pulled to the front to go for a good climb. Chris and Bevan came with me and when we...
Last day for me!! 165km total. It was a very hilly last day and I really wanted to get after the ride today. Not too much engergy left to tell great stories for today's blog but maybe in a couple days I'll recap the funny things I will always remember after this week. For day 7 I finally got to the top of the climbs well. Even managed to nip Chris and Bevan up one of the harder climbs. It was game on by all the boy's right to the end today and it was a blast attacking eachother right to the...
Over 1000km’s in one week.Camp is officially over as we head back in the car to Christchurch. I came on this camp for a few very clear things, to have some fun training with great people, have some fun training with my sweetie Chris, and ramp up my volume fitness to improve my ability to back it up in stage races. All of these things keep the spirit alive and keep you headed out the door on those long hard lonely days during the rest of the year. Memories from a week like this improve you...
Hello,Post Epic has been filled with a bit of up and down. I've been feeling strong and fit from the KM's, but I definately caused some physical stress pushing my cycling limits for a week. The first few days after Epic I got a kidney stone for the first time ever in my life. The body has a way of letting you know it's time to have a few easy days and that you definately have stressed the body. That's what neccessary to make improvements sometimes and as long as you allow yourself to recover...
